The Iglesia Nuestra Señora de Las Mercedes was built in 1737 and is registered as a National Historic Site. The church was renovated in 1993 to coincide with the 500th anniversary of the Discovery of Puerto Rico.
The Teatro Priscilla Flores, former Teatro Cervantes, was the social and artistic center of San Lorenzo. This theater, built more than a century ago, was destroyed by the hurricane San Felipe in 1928 and again destroyed by a fire in 1940. It was restored and operated until 1984. It was ... (more)
